Slow, small and staying independent in 2024.

Firstly a big thank you to everyone who has used YourCare in 2023. Also a big thank you for all your feedback!

YourCare has taken a long time to get to where it is. For those of you who've been using the site for a while, you'll know what I mean, its been a journey.

The development of the site has taken a long time, largely because we're a very small team, with no external funding.

That means we have limited resources to develop YourCare quickly.

Although it would be nice to be bigger and move faster, there are many benefits to being small and slow.

Chief among these is independence. Growing quickly normally means finding investment, which in turn means playing by someone else's rules.

Staying small and moving slowly gives us a better chance of delivering on our mission of helping people with the cost of care.

With that said, let's have a look at what's in store for 2024.

Fulfilling our mission to help with the cost of care.

As you all know, our mission is to help with the cost of care. That means providing people with the information they need to make informed decisions.

This year we will be experimenting with a virtual assistant which will allow members to ask questions about the cost of care.

Many of you seek advice through our discussion forum, through connection with other members or directly with our (small) team.

Creating a virtual assistant, provides another means of seeking support.

The assistant (maybe we'll give it a nice name, suggestions??), will be trained by us and use artificial intelligence to provide informed and personal advice.

This will not be healthcare advice, you should always seek the opinion of medical professionals.

Rather it will provide advice about costs and the options for managing costs.

Of upmost importance is that the assistant provides accurate advice while ensuring the privacy of members.

With this in mind we will move forward cautiously, while keeping you informed about the benefits and risks.

We'll make the shop easier to navigate in 2024.

For anyone who has used our shop in 2023, you'll understand that it has not always been easy to navigate.

A few simple additions will help in that regard.

We'll add a browse feature in 2024 and create collections to help people find the care they need.

Our goal is to make your browsing experience more intuitive and user-friendly.

We'll also be expanding our product range

Finally, we'll be adding new products to the shop in 2024.

Many of you have said that a more diverse range of products would be good.

That's why we've started conversations with our existing and new suppliers about expanding the range of products offered.

We'll let you know asap when this happens.
